Halloween Monster Eggs

After some experimentation, the winning material is electrical tape- the office dots peel up (they're re-positional which means they don't stick) however, the paper hole reinforcers are great for making eyes and they stay on the plastic eggs.

Permanent marker for details and you're good to go.

My trick for cutting shapes out of any tape whether it's duct tape, painters tape or electrical tape is to first put it on parchment paper and then cut out the desired shape.

We're thinking of putting glow sticks in the monster eggs for a treasure hunt in our yard this coming Halloween eve.

  1. Hi Kimberly,
This is great! We were also thinking you could stuff this with candy and hand out to trick-or-treaters. We also just reposted this to kidzibit.com. Thanks for the idea!

  2. Kimberly,
This is great for all ages. For the pet lover you can put bells in them and either wrap them in fabric or felt or even crochet around them with a cotton yarn and they are a cat toy. Paint them and fill with candy as a hand out for Halloween. Then even for Easter you can decorate them like a bunny, chick or an colored egg ( they won't crack when dropped on the hunt), the possibility's are just endless. Thank you for the great idea that can be for everyone.
